Do you ever need a recipe to feed a crowd? Or maybe a hearty meal with left overs? Baked Ziti is the dish!  This easy pasta dish never disappoints! Cook it up on Sunday and have it for leftovers the next day or two!  It’s full of noodles, marinara and cheese and everyone loves it!  There are a few steps – but it is super easy!!  Try it and let me know!

1 (16 oz.) pkg. ziti noodles (penne works too)

1 lb. meat (hamburger, ground round, or mild Italian sausage)

1 (16 oz.) pkg. Mozzarella cheese-shredded (or shred your own)

1/4 c. grated Parmesan cheese

1 small onion, diced

4 c. (32 oz) sauce (seasoned tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, or marinara sauce) 

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning, plus extra for topping

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon pepper

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside. Brown meat and onion in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until meat crumbles. Drain mixture and return to skillet. Add Italian seasoning, garlic and pepper. Add sauce and ziti to meat mixture. Layer half of ziti mixture in 9×13 inch pan. Layer ½ Mozzarella cheese. Spoon remaining ziti mixture over Mozzarella cheese and cover with aluminum foil. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Remove foil; add remaining Mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and sprinkle additional Italian seasoning on top. Bake 10 additional minutes.
