Braised Sirloin Tips and Rice
?Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons fat (I use 1 Tablespoon bacon grease and 1 Tablespoon olive oil)
- 2 pounds beef sirloin steak, cut in 1″ cubes, seasoned with pepper, garlic powder and 2 T flour
- 1 can (14 ounces) beef broth
- 1/3 cup cranberry juice
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (I use Tony Chacheres)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1/4 cup water
- 2-3 cups cooked rice

Heat fat in large skillet; brown meat on all sides. Stir in broth, cranberry cocktail, soy sauce, garlic, and all seasonings. Heat to boiling. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Blend cornstarch and water; stir gradually into meat mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Serve over rice.
