Everyone loves an ooey gooey Rice Krispie treat!!  I have had friends say they can’t seem to make them without them being crunchy. There are a few tips I always do so I always have a yummy soft treat in my hand!  Increase your butter by a bit and decrease cereal by a bit!  See below for my recipe. Also, do not spend too much time on the heat!  I hope you try it and it works for you! 

Rice Krispie Treats

?Ingredients

  • 4 T butter
  • 5 1/2 cups mini marshmallows or 40 large
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • I always throw in 10 or so extra minis at the end 
  • Food coloring if using 
  • Decorations if using (chocolate, marshmallows, sprinkles etc 

?Directions

Melt butter over medium heat. Once melted stir in marshmallows and let melt. If adding coloring this is where you add it. Don’t let the marshmallows get too hot and burn. Remove from the heat and add cereal- Stir JUST until combined and immediately pour out onto greased pan. 

??If using any toppings do it now. And quickly before it cools. 

??If using chocolate – melt chips with about 1/8-1/4 tsp oil and warm in 20 second intervals until melted. Transfer to baggie and trim corner to create a piping bag. Then drizzle.
