These buttery soft sugar cookies are a perfect treat. They are not overly sweet and come together so quick. I love that u can get a sugar cookie fix without feeling like I’m in a sugar coma. lol!  And no chill time needed. This is yummy treat, you must try it change up your colored sugar for the time of year! 

Buttery Soft Sugar Cookies

?Ingredients 

  • 1 cup Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • Decorators Sugar, it desired

?Instructions 

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine butter, powdered sugar and 1/2 cup granulated sugar in large bowl. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until creamy. Add egg and vanilla; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low; add flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Beat until dough is smooth.

Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Roll in colored sugar. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly (to about 1/2 inch) with bottom of glass or measuring cup that has a flat bottom. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Let stand 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Do not over bake.
