Are you a Chocolate Fan? Are you a Cobbler Fan? Well, you need to try Chocolate Cobbler! I love this dessert. It’s great warm with ice cream. Serve it at potlucks, family gatherings or just for a cozy night in! You will love it!

This is such a comforting and crowd pleasing dessert. All the feels of a cobbler topping but with a chocolate fudgy center. It is perfect served warm with a scoop of ice cream!

Ingredients
- butter
- self rising flour
- sugar
- cocoa powder
- milk
- vanilla extract
- boiling water

Instructions
Step 1: Combine dry and wet ingredients until smooth
Step 2: Pour batter into melted butter
Step 3: Spoon on and smooth out cobbler topping
Step 4: Pour boiling water all over top and bake
When this deliciousness comes out of the oven your entire kitchen will be enveloped in a cocoa aroma that will make everyone excited to dig into this cobbler! I mean just look this!
Equipment
This recipe is so simple. Just need a mixing bowl, scraper, 8x8 pan, and boiling water.
My favorite electric kettle to boil water is here and my fav baking sheets in an 8x8 are here. In these pictures though I used a glass dish which also is perfect!
Storage
This can be stored in the refrigerator for about 5 days. I do not recommend freezing this cobbler.
When you are ready to for another serving simply reheat in the microwave!

Chocolate Cobbler
Ingredients
- 6 tablespoon butter
- 1 cup self-rising flour
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup white sugar
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ cups boiling water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350℉. Melt butter in an 8x8 inch baking dish while the oven preheats. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, ¾ cup sugar, and 1 ½ tablespoons cocoa. Stir in the milk and vanilla until smooth. Spoon this batter over the melted butter in the baking dish. Stir together the remaining cup of sugar and ¼ cup cocoa powder. Sprinkle over the batter. Slowly pour boiling water over the top of the mixture.
- Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Serve slightly warm with ice cream.
