Ok Pizza Lovers! Do you ever make French Bread Pizza at home?  It’s a great treat for a busy workday or lazy weekend. I’ll share all my tips so you don’t have soggy crust AND this homemade pizza sauce is the best! This is a CHEAP DINNER and you can top it anyway way you like!

French Bread Pizza

?Ingredients

  • 1 French bread loaf
  • I batch pizza sauce or jarred sauce
  • Pizza toppings!
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1 clove garlic or garlic powder

?Directions

Make sauce! (Recipe below)

Preheat oven to 450. Slice bread in half then quarters. Combine melted butter and crushed garlic clove to create a garlicky butter. Brush the tops of the bread. Bake at 450 for 5 minutes until the edges are toasted and golden.

While warm add sauce and all toppings. Keep the majority of cheese down center because the cheese spreads. Sprinkle top with Italian seasoning. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes.

?Pizza Sauce

  • 1 8oz can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 6oz can tomato paste
  • 2 Tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried basil
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Dash pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon sugar

Drain pineapple and save pineapple for pizza.

Sauté onion and garlic in a little olive oil until soft. Combine all other ingredients along with pineapple juice and mix until combined.

  • Bowls of taco soup topped with shredded cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips for a hearty and flavorful meal.
