½ cup light corn syrup
½ cupbrown sugarfirmly packed
¼cupbutter
1teaspoonvanilla
½teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
Preheat oven to 250°F. While the oven heats, mix together the cereal and pecan pieces in a 9x13 baking dish and set it aside.
In a 2-cup microwave-safe bowl, combine the corn syrup, brown sugar, and butter. Microwave the mixture on high for 1 ½ minutes, then give it a good stir. Return it to the microwave and cook on high for another 30 seconds to 1 ½ minutes, or until the mixture is boiling.
Stir in the vanilla and baking soda into the boiling mixture. Immediately pour this praline mixture over the cereal and pecans, stirring until everything is well coated.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes. Be sure to scrape the bottom and fold the sugar mixture back into the cereal and pecans each time to keep everything evenly coated.
After 1 hour spread onto a sheet pan and let cool. Break into pieces and store in airtight container.
