Fudge Crinkle Cookies

This is an easy homemade cookie recipe for rich, chocolatey fudge crinkle cookies! Chocolatey with a soft, chewy center and a crackly powdered sugar coating.

Do you love fudgy cookies?! These cookies are a Family Favorite around here and we love these year round. They are always soft and fudgy and absolutely worth every calorie!! Add them to your baking list soon!

Instructions

Paying attention to the recipe card instructions will yield the best cookies! Adding melted chocolate to the dough gives that extra rich cookie that you love! After combing the ingredients you must chill the dough. Once chilled, you will simply roll the dough into balls and into the powdered sugar. I like to have a thick covering of sugar and pack it tight. This will help the cookie to have that white crinkle layer, as some of the sugar will be absorbed as it bakes. See How To Video below!!

Honestly.....good baking supplies are key! The wrong pan will certainly yield an over baked cookie! Here is a link to my favorite supplies!

Storage

Crinkle cookies stay fresh for 2-3 days in an airtight container! I like to keep a piece of bread on top of a piece of parchment paper inside the container for 24 hours....it helps them stay soft!

Fudge Crinkle Cookies

A decadent chocolate cookie with a fudgy center and powdered sugar coating!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, divided 12-oz. pkg
  • 1 ยฝ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons baking powder
  • ยผ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 ยฝ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • ยฝ-ยพ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Microwave 1 cup morsels in medium, uncovered, microwave-safe bowl on HIGH (100%) power for 45 seconds. STIR. Morsels may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave in additional 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring just until morsels are melted. Cool to room temperature.
    Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl. Beat granulated sugar, butter and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl. Beat in melted chocolate.
    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in remaining 1 cup morsels.
    Cover; refrigerate just until firm.
    Preheat oven to 350ยฐ F.
    Shape dough into 1 ยฝ-inch balls; roll in powdered sugar. Making sure to pack tight and leaving a little extra on top.
    Place on ungreased baking sheets or parchment lined sheet.
    Bake for 10 to 15 minutes or until sides are set but centers are still slightly soft. Make sure to watch. Mine are done at almost 12 minutes.
    Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to coolย completely.
