Semi Homemade Tips

If making the cupcakes from scratch is just not something you have time for today, it's ok! I actually used a box cake mix - triple chocolate. However, to make them taste a little more bakery style I substituted milk for water and added about ¼ cup mini chocolate chips.

For the Frosting

I whipped up my own buttercream...but you can certainly buy a can of your favorite brand. I decided to tint mine purple for a festive touch! Orange and Green are also great options!

The Hats

For my witch hats I used the Muddy Bites brand of the cone filled snacks. These are so fun and already black as I got the cookies and cream variety! Add some sprinkles then top your icing with one of these! And you are done! They are so cute and festive!

Instructions

First, prepare and bake your favorite cake mix into mini cupcakes. Mine bake about 12-14 minutes. While those are cooling mix up your buttercream frosting or open your favorite prepared can! Then, using a fun decorators tip, pipe on a dollop of frosting on top of the cooled cupcakes. Next, sprinkle with some festive sprinkles and then press in a waffle cone for the hat. That is all! So simple!

If you are in the market for a new mini muffin pan, this one is my favorite! It bakes evenly every time!
