I make these BBQ Sausage Bites several times every year during the holidays and football season. Made with just 2 main ingredients and 2 simple spices, they're an easy party appetizer that somehow always disappears first! Don't skip the step of lightly browning the sausage before adding the BBQ sauce—it really brings out the flavor. You can use your favorite sausage along with bottled or homemade barbecue sauce, and I even sneak in turkey sausage sometimes. No one ever knows the difference!

These are perfect for game day, potlucks, holiday parties, and tailgates. If you are looking for something else to bring try my Texas Caviar-it's hearty and can be prepped ahead!

Ingredients
- sausage links
- BBQ sauce
- granulated garlic
- red pepper flakes
See exact quantities in recipe card below

Instructions
First, slice the sausage into ¼- to ½-inch rounds, cutting at a slight angle to create more surface area for browning and holding the BBQ sauce. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and lightly coat it with olive oil spray. Add the sausage slices in a single layer and let them cook undisturbed for 30 seconds to 1 minute, or until lightly charred on one side. Flip the sausage, then stir in 1 cup of BBQ sauce along with the seasonings. Continue cooking until everything is heated through and the sausage is well coated. Serve the BBQ sausage bites directly from the skillet, adding more BBQ sauce if you prefer them extra saucy. For parties or potlucks, transfer the sausages to a small slow cooker and keep it on the warm setting until ready to serve.

FAQs for BBQ Sausage Bites
It's totally based on your preference! I like to use turkey sausage often...just because at parties there are so many unhealthy options already.
Of course! It just adds a little kick, not much.
Storing Leftovers
If you even have any left! Store leftover BBQ Sausage Bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. Reheat them gently in a skillet over medium-low heat, in the microwave, or in a small slow cooker until warmed through. If the sauce thickens during storage, stir in a splash of additional BBQ sauce or a tablespoon of water to loosen it up.
