Creamy Salsa is a fiesta for your tastebuds and one of the easiest party dips you’ll ever make! With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip this up in minutes—perfect for last-minute gatherings, potlucks, or unexpected guests. What makes this creamy salsa recipe so great is how versatile it is.

If you have someone who doesn't usually love salsa, this version just might change their mind. It’s smooth, flavorful, and you can easily adjust the heat by using your favorite store-bought or homemade salsa.I like to add a sprinkle of cumin and chili powder for extra depth, but that’s totally optional.

You can even spread it on a tortilla with grilled chicken for a quick wrap! I always make mine with low-fat cream cheese, and it turns out rich and delicious every time.Trust me—once you try this creamy salsa, you’ll be looking for excuses to make it again. Let me know how you like it!

Ingredients

  • cream cheese
  • salsa
  • cumin
  • chili powder

See exact quantities in recipe card below.

Instructions

Honestly, you could not ask for an easier appetizer! Put everything in a food processor and pulse! Or use a bowl and hand mixer. Both work great! I like mine to refrigerate for about 30 minutes to meld all the flavor together...but it is not necessary! See the recipe in action in the short 47 second clip below!

Equipment

If a food processor is not available a hand mixer works just as well! I love my food processor and use it for so many things! Making dips like this, shred cheese when I need a few cups or more for recipes, pulverizing veggies when I need them in a soup etc. Here is a link to my favorite!

Storage

Store this Creamy Salsa in an airtight container for about a week in the fridge! If you have a gathering coming up you can make it the day before to make life easier!

Story Time

I first tasted this dip when I was young—probably in my early teen years—at a 4th of July family reunion. My Aunt Dawn brought it, and I still remember how creamy and flavorful it was. I think it may have looked a little pinker back then, but you know how memories fade over time! Over the years, I started adding a little cumin and chili powder, just because I’m such a fan of those spices—they give it that perfect little extra-extra kick.

I’ve loved this dip ever since and knew I had to share it with you. Funny enough, Aunt Dawn has taught me quite a few things over the years—probably without even realizing it! One of my favorite tips she passed along? If you place a slice of bread into a container of cookies, they’ll stay soft. I still do it to this day, especially when I’m taking cookies to a gathering. I just lay the bread on top of a piece of parchment and seal the lid—Soft Cookies Delivered!

Thanks for the tip and the dip, Aunt Dawn!
