  • lemons
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • frozen whipped topping
  • strawberries
  • blueberries

See recipe card below for exact quantities.

Instructions

This recipe is a show stopper....but SO EASY to assemble. Just thaw the puff pastry and according to the directions in the recipe card cut to make your rectangle. The video below is very helpful too! Once th pastry is cut, assembled and baked then the fun begins! Making the filling is super easy by combining the sweetened condensed milk, lemon juice, zest and whipped topping. From there you will add all those beautiful berries and stars and decorate! So Fun! Watch the video below!

Storage

This recipe is BEST prepared and eaten the same day. The sweet cream will make the pastry soggy and the strawberries lose their firmness. So plan accordingly.

Equipment

Quality kitchen tools make all the difference! Using an egg slicer or a cup slice will make the strawberry slicing so much easier! Here is a LINK to some of my fav kitchen tools!

Ingredients

  • 17.25 oz package frozen puff pastry thawed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 lemons zested and juiced
  • 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping thawed, divided
  • 2 pints strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 pint blueberries

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F. Roll one sheet of puff pastry into 10 x 13-inch rectangle. Repeat with second sheet of pastry, rolling onto lightly floured surface.
  • Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut four strips, 13 inches long and 1 inch wide, from one sheet of pastry. Reserve remaining dough for star decorations.
  • Now with the second pastry sheet: brush edges of pastry on cookie sheet with water. Lay the 13x1" strips of pastry over edges making an outer rim. Trim off any excess dough. Prick entire bottom of pastry with a fork. Bake 13-15 minutes or until golden brown. (Read next step before baking) (Center may puff up slightly, but will flatten out as it cools.) Cool completely.
  • Cut stars from remaining dough using a star cutter; sprinkle with sugar. Bake on cookie sheet 12 minutes or until golden brown. (You can add these to the same sheet and remove when ready.
  • Meanwhile, zest lemons to measure 1 tablespoon zest.
Juice lemons to measure ¼ cup juice.
In a bowl, whisk together condensed milk, lemon juice and lemon zest. Gently fold in 1 and ½ cups of the whipped topping.
Fill cooled pastry shell with filling. Slice strawberries.
Arrange strawberries, blueberries and pastry stars over filling.
Garnish with remaining whipped topping (optional). Cut into squares and serve.
