These Patriotic Rice Krispie Treats are the perfect example of an easy holiday dessert that looks adorable and tastes even better.

Instructions

Simply make the Rice Krispies treat mixture and press into a sheet pan with about 1 ½ inch thickness. Let them firm up for several minutes. You want them pliable but not hot. Using the star cookie cutter of choice press out the cereal. You may need to reshape when removing cutter. Let these cool. Heat up chocolate chips with oil in 10 second increments and stirring between. Put into a baggie and press to a corner. Snip a tiny piece off that corner and use it to drizzle on the chocolate. If using the sticks to make pops insert these just after removing the cookie cutter. A little extra mixture may need to be added to secure the back.

Sticks

Using the stick is only an option! These are great just sitting on a platter and I promise they will be gone in no time at all!

No Patriotic Cereal? No Problem!

If you can’t find the red, white, and blue Patriotic Rice Krispies, don’t worry—regular cereal works just as well! Simply tint your white chocolate with food coloring, or color the Rice Krispie mixture itself with a bit of blue coloring. Top with a white chocolate drizzle, and you’ll still have a festive and fun treat perfect for any patriotic celebration!
