Let's Talk Cookie Tips!
Keeping them Soft
So, you’ve just baked a fresh batch of fabulous homemade cookies—but you won’t be serving them until tomorrow morning. No problem! Here’s a simple holiday baking hack to keep cookies soft and chewy overnight. All you need is a slice of bread!
First, place your cookies on the serving stand you plan to use or in an airtight container. Next, lay down a square of parchment paper or a strip of plastic wrap on top of the cookies. Then, place a slice of bread right on top. Finally, either wrap the cookie stand tightly in plastic wrap or secure the airtight lid on your container.
Here’s the magic—overnight, the cookies will pull just enough moisture from that slice of bread to stay irresistibly soft and chewy. By morning, your cookies will taste fresh-from-the-oven, while the bread will be dry and stale. It’s a quick, no-fuss kitchen tip perfect for holiday baking or anytime you want bakery-quality cookies the next day!

Checking our Ingredients
You always want to bake with the freshest ingredients or you could find yourself with FLAT cakes and boring cookies.
So testing your supply of baking soda and powder is always a good idea. Especially if you can't remember the last time you used it! Instructions and VIDEO below!

- Testing baking soda: Add ¼ teaspoon to a bowl. Then add about 2 teaspoons vinegar. If it bubbles then you have fresh soda! If not, change out your box.
- Testing baking powder: Add 1 teaspoon baking powder to a ½ cup of HOT water. If it bubbles. It’s a fresh can!
