If you’re looking for a quick and easy dessert that’s guaranteed to impress, this Hershey Bar Pie is it! Made with just 2 simple ingredients plus a crust, this pie is creamy, rich, and full of that classic milk chocolate flavor everyone loves. It’s been a family favorite for years, and for good reason — it comes together in minutes and tastes absolutely amazing.

You can use a pre-made crust for convenience or make your own with Oreo crumbs, graham crackers, or a traditional pie crust. Each one adds a delicious twist, making this pie incredibly versatile. I’ve even included my easy Oreo crumb crust recipe link is below if you want to try it from scratch.

This no-fuss chocolate pie recipe is perfect for holidays, potlucks, or whenever you’re craving something sweet and creamy.

Ingredients

  • Hershey Bars
  • Cool Whip, thawed
  • Pie Crust, pre baked

Instructions

Begin by breaking apart the candy bars and placing them in a microwave-safe bowl. Slowly melt the chocolate in short intervals of about 20 seconds, stirring between each one, until completely smooth. Next, allow the melted chocolate to cool slightly â€” this step is important so the mixture blends well. Then, gently fold in the Cool Whip until the filling becomes smooth and turns a light milk chocolate color.

Once combined, spread the creamy mixture evenly into your prepared pie crust. Finally, refrigerate the pie for about an hour, or until fully set. Keep the pie stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve and for storage of left over pie.

Top Tip

If the chocolate is too hot it will actually form small chocolate pieces. Equally delicious, but not as smooth.

FAQs

What is the best pie crust to use?

Totally a personal choice! My two favorite ways is a regular pie crust and an Oreo crust. An Oreo Crust definitely makes it more rich.

How long should I let the chocolate cool?

I cool until it is just warm to the touch.

Chocolate Decor Toppers

To dress up your pie for a holiday or special occasion, try adding chocolate designs on top! In a microwave-safe bowl, slowly melt some chocolate chips with a drop or two of olive oil, stirring every 15 seconds until smooth. Then, pour the melted chocolate into a small baggie and snip a tiny corner off. Use it to pipe fun shapes onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Once finished, place the sheet in the refrigerator until the designs are set.

These chocolate decorations are a fun and easy way to personalize your pie — make hearts for Valentine’s Day, trees for Christmas, or stars for New Year’s or the Fourth of July!

Equipment

  • Pie Pan
  • microwave safe bowl
  • Spreader
  • scraper

Ingredients

  • 6 1.5 ounce Hershey Bars
  • 8 ounce Cool Whip thawed
  • 1 pre baked pie crust of choice

Instructions

  • Break apart the candy bars and place them in a microwave-safe bowl. Slowly melt the chocolate in short 20 second intervals, stirring between each one, until completely smooth. May take about 1 minute.
Slightly cool the chocolate until warm to the touch — this step is important so the mixture blends well.
Gently fold in the Cool Whip until the filling becomes smooth and turns a light milk chocolate color.
Once combined, spread the mixture evenly into the prepared pie crust.
Refrigerate the pie for about an hour, or until fully set.
Keep the pie stored in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

Allowing the chocolate to cool slightly will help it blend in smoothly. If the chocolate is too warm it will create chocolate pieces. Just as delicious, but not as smooth.
