If you’re looking for a fun and irresistible treat, these Churro Honeycombs are the answer! Made with crunchy honeycomb cereal coated in a buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture, this no-bake dessert is sweet, crispy, and totally addictive. I especially love making it in the fall when warm cinnamon flavors shine, but it’s also the perfect addition to a holiday cookie platter, dessert bar, game day or party snack mix. Quick, easy, and always a crowd-pleaser, this is a recipe you’ll come back to again and again.

Ingredients

  • Honeycombs cereal
  • brown sugar
  • butter
  • corn syrup
  • vanilla
  • baking soda
  • cinnamon

See exact quantities in recipe card below.

Instructions

To begin, preheat your oven to 350°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a small bowl, sift together the granulated sugar and cinnamon, then set aside. Next, pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl. In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup. Stir constantly as you bring the mixture to a boil, then continue cooking for 1 more minute. Remove the pan from heat and carefully stir in the vanilla and baking soda—the mixture will bubble and expand. Immediately pour this hot mixture over the cereal and toss until evenly coated. Then, sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the cereal and toss again to cover each piece. Spread the coated cereal onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even baking. Finally, allow the cereal to cool completely before breaking it into bite-sized clusters. Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh.

Equipment

A well stocked kitchen makes baking so much more fun! For this recipe you will need a heavy bottom sauce pan for sure. Using a good saucepan ensures that your coating does not cook to fast and burn.
