These Fall Acorn Treats have been a sweet little tradition in our home for years, and they’re still one of our favorites every autumn! I first started making them when my kids were little, and they quickly became a family favorite. That classic peanut butter and chocolate combination is always a crowd-pleaser, and these no-bake treats couldn’t be easier to make.

I also love adding a batch of these easy acorn treats to the “Kid’s Dessert Table” at Thanksgiving—it’s such a fun and festive addition that both kids and adults enjoy. Best of all, they take only a few minutes to put together, making them the perfect last-minute fall dessert idea. Whether you’re making them for a school party, family gathering, or just a cozy afternoon snack, these adorable little acorns are sure to be a hit. Happy Fall, Y’all!

Ingredients

Ingredients ready for Fall Acorn Treats

The ingredient list could not be simpler!!

  • Nutter Butter Bites
  • Hershey's Kisses
  • Mini Chocolate Chips

Instructions

This recipe comes together in no time at all, and the steps are so simple! First, melt about 2 tablespoons of mini chocolate chips in a small bowl. To do this, microwave the chips for 15 seconds, stir, and then repeat the process until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth. Being sure to check and stir often, this can burn easily. Next, gently dip the flat side of each candy kiss into the melted chocolate and press it onto a cookie to form the base of the acorn. If the chocolate is a little too warm, you can also use a toothpick to help with this step.

As you continue attaching all the kisses to the cookies, set them aside to allow the chocolate to firm up. Finally, dip the tip of a toothpick into the melted chocolate and dap some chocolate in the middle of the other side of the cookie. Then quickly place a mini chocolate chip on top to complete the acorn shape. And just like that, you’re done! These adorable Fall Acorn Treats are SO easy and ready to enjoy.

Top Tip

Assemble all the cookies with the candy kiss first. Once you are finished with those start back over adding the mini chip. This allows a little time for that kiss to harden on to that cookie so nothing slides around.

Storage

Just keep these in an airtight container. They stay great for an about a week if they even last that long! I like to make these the day before an event to get this recipe out of the way and make party day easier.

Substitutions

If you can't find the Nutter Butter Bites a good substitute is Mini Nilla Wafers. A cute substitute for the mini chocolate chip is a piece of a pretzel.
