Ingredients

Mini Cinnamon Rolls Ingredients
  • refrigerated crescent rolls
  • butter
  • sugar
  • cinnamon
  • powdered sugar
  • milk
  • vanilla

See exact quantities in recipe card.

Instructions

To begin, unroll the package of crescent roll dough onto a lightly floured surface, being careful not to separate it into triangles. Instead, keep the dough in 4 rectangles. Next, roll each rectangle gently and pinch the seams together to seal the perforations. Once the seams are sealed, spread softened butter evenly over each piece of dough. In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle the mixture evenly over the buttered dough. Starting from the long side, roll each piece jelly roll-style toward you, keeping the roll tight. Press the edges to seal the log, then slice each roll into 5–6 even pieces. After that, lightly grease a small sheet pan or use a baking stone, and arrange the cinnamon rolls with their seams touching. Finally, bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 12–14 minutes, or until the centers are fully set and lightly golden.

Top Tip

When placing your raw rolls on the baking sheet love just a bit of room in-between (½ inch) so the rolls have room to expand. And be clear on the tree triangle as it will grow and expand as it bakes.

Equipment

For this recipe you do not need many tools. I find rolling thermals out slightly with a small rolling pin on a cutting board works great. You can also simply do this with your fingers. I love having a cinnamon/sugar shaker on hand and a fun colored baking sheet is always fun at Christmas time. Here is a link to some of my favorite holiday baking items!
