These adorable Pilgrim Hat treats are the cutest no-bake Thanksgiving dessert! Made with soft marshmallows dipped in rich melted chocolate and set on top of a crisp chocolate cookie “brim,” they come together in just minutes and are always a hit at Thanksgiving feasts, kids’ parties, and school celebrations. Because honestly—a chocolate-covered marshmallow is always a good idea! Add these fun and festive Thanksgiving marshmallow hats to your dessert table this year for a quick, easy, and crowd-pleasing treat everyone will love.

These Pilgrim Hats have been a family tradition since my youngest was in preschool — and now he’s headed into his 20s! WHAT? How did that happen? He used to ask me to make them for every classroom feast, and they quickly became the treat everyone looked forward to each year. The tradition stuck, and now it just wouldn’t feel like Thanksgiving without a batch of these chocolate marshmallow hats on the table.

Ingredients
- Jet Puffed Marshmallows
- Dipping Chocolate
- Keebler Fudge Stripe cookies
- Yellow Decorating Icing (store bought tube or homemade)
Instructions
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dipping chocolate in 25-second increments, stirring between each round, until completely smooth. Once melted, add a jumbo Jet-Puffed marshmallow and gently turn it until fully coated. Then, using a fork, lift the marshmallow out and lightly tap it on the side of the bowl to allow any excess chocolate to drip off. Next, with the help of a toothpick for guidance, slide the coated marshmallow onto the center of the chocolate cookie — chocolate side up — to form the hat. After all of the hats are assembled, place them in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set. Finally, once firm, use a writing tip to pipe a small rectangle for the hat’s buckle. Let it firm up for a few more minutes and serve! Watch the short video below for a step by step!
Equipment
This time of year I like to take an inventory of my kitchen tools and I begin to replace and add items. This is my affiliate link to my store front so that you can see if you are missing anything in your kitchen!

Storage
These store really well! You can make them a day or two before you need to serve, making them perfect for a dessert table! Just store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
FAQs
I prefer the Ghirardelli Melting Wafers. They have milk and dark chocolate.
Yes! Yellow Mini M&Ms are a perfect substitute.
